Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Book app for iPhone and iPad ("Book", "the app", "we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). If these Terms conflict with Apple's EULA, these Terms apply to the extent permitted.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app.

Your content

Book is a reader for files you choose to import. You are solely responsible for the books and documents you open in the app and must have the right to use them. The app does not provide, sell or distribute books, except for public domain sample content. Your files and reading data are stored on your device; you are responsible for keeping your own backups.

Book Pro

Some features require Book Pro. The free version is limited (for example, the number of books and shelves). Book Pro is offered as:

• Monthly subscription;
• Yearly subscription, which may include a free trial;
• Lifetime purchase (one-time payment).

Current prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by country. Special offers, such as a discounted first year, may be shown to some users for a limited time.

Subscriptions, trials and billing

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• If you start a free trial, the subscription begins automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• An introductory price applies only to the first period; after it, the subscription renews at the regular price.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies: https://reportaproblem.apple.com
• You can restore purchases on another device signed in with the same Apple ID using "Restore Purchases" in the app.

Third-party services

Book can look up book details and covers from Open Library and Google Books, uses Apple and RevenueCat to process and verify purchases, and uses Amplitude for usage analytics. These services are provided by third parties under their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or accuracy. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to violate any law or the rights of others, including copyright, or to interfere with the app or its services.

Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that your data will never be lost. Reading statistics, goals and translations are for informational purposes only.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data or content, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app or Book Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your license if you breach these Terms.

Changes

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. The new version will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated Terms.
